The RTE Vanbrugh Quartet founded the internationally acclaimed West Cork
Chamber Music Festival in 1996 in association with West Cork Music. The Festival
takes place in the spectacular location of Bantry House, amidst the mountains
and seascapes of Ireland's west coast. All Festival concerts are broadcast by
Lyric FM, and many are taken on the European Broadcasting Union network. A
television documentary in 1998 gave millions of viewers a taste of the
Festival's unique atmosphere and the event has on several occasions been the subject of a
week-long feature on BBC Radio 3.
